What is DSIL? Designing for Social Innovation and Leadership is an unconventional executive education experience and program academically backed by the Centre for Executive Education of the United Nations mandated University for Peace.


DSIL is designed for cross-sector active professionals, practitioners, and grad students who are ready to grow their knowledge, transferable skills and social capital network through live online sessions and 10-day field immersions in SEA. Since launching in 2014, we have selected the top of 600+ applicants from more than 80 countries. Get inspired by the alumni here.


Where and When is the 2016 Course?

  • Virtual Classroom = August 15 - December 15
  • 10 day Field Immersions (select one, scroll for dates below) = Thailand, Indonesia (West Bali), Philippines, Taiwan, Cambodia + Myanmar


How do I apply? Are Scholarships Available? Yes, partial scholarships are available which will help cover the overall program cost (Accommodation and meals included in this price). Is the training certified? Yes!

Participants who successfully complete the Virtual Classroom and Field Immersion requirements will receive a Designing for Social Innovation and Leadership Certificate granted by the Centre for Executive Education, United Nations (UN) University for Peace Conflict Studies and leave with knowledge and skills of implementing Human Centered Design. DSIL participants come from around the world and work across diverse industries, sectors and professional paths: from education, to finance, international development, sustainability or tech and beyond. This community is eager to grow their professional network, get inspired and learn hard skills focused on how to create meaningful social innovation and impact; usually by applying their learning to the following types of organizational structures:

When is the application deadline?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; the scholarship application deadline was May 15th (waitlist open); final call closed June 13th; you are welcome to apply for the waitlist.
